Have you ever left a family photography session and thought “oh my gosh I don’t know if we even got one good shot… that was so hectic and stressful. I feel like I need a vacation now”? Well if you have, let me tell you, you’re not alone!

This is exactly why I have spent years and years coming up with a client experience where families, especially moms leave the shoot feeling refreshed, confident and even have had a little fun! That’s right, I said it, FUN. And yes, even with toddlers!

Why do we capture photographs? To remember that season of life, how we felt in that season, the love we have for our family and children, right? Let me ask you this, HOW are you going to love images that when you look at them the first thing you think of is how stressful it was to capture them? Will those images bring you joy? Take you back to the love you shared? Absolutely not. Even if you get everyone smiling in a few images but how you felt when they were captured was stressed, over stimulated, wanting it to end there is no way those images are going to hold a good emotional weight.

As a mom of 2 under 5, I get it. That is why my Signature Family Session is an experience NOT just a photo session. I start with a quick phone call, get to know you and your family and understand what you’re looking for. You get to know me a little bit too and make sure you feel comfortable with my personality and what I have to offer. Then you get to come into the studio to look for wardrobe, that’s right. No shopping for everyone, it’s all included in your session fee! I have tons of dresses for mom and kids, newborn stuff galore, outfits for toddlers-teens, and of course tops for dad! Then momma shows up to the studio the day of shoot (without the kids) to get pampered. Hair and makeup is complimentary, some relaxing music is playing and she’s able to get dressed on her own without the kids swarming her. Next dad shows up with the kids, everyone gets dressed and we head to the location shoot spot.

I let my sessions be fun, relaxed and kid-led. That’s right there is lots of just running, playing, exploring. Why? This makes for great lifestyle shots that you can look back on and remember what your kids were into or doing at that season of life, it also keeps them happy and stress free which ultimately leads to those smile shots that your going to actually fall in love with and WANT on your walls because they hold an emotional value that you treasure forever.

About 3-4 weeks after your session you come into the studio together so we can view your edited images. This is where the magic happens and you get to realize the weight of what the images mean to you and what they will mean for your children. We look/talk about at areas in your home you may want to hang the images or maybe create a beautiful album to display in your living room. I help walk you through each step and even come install your framing once it arrives! Talk about fully stress-free!
